Corruption Prevention & Fighting in the Public Sector
There are several approaches to anti-corruption in the public sector. The most common of all is the negative one, focused on the legal requirements and sanctions associated with corruption and related illegal practices. From this perspective, civil servants are informed about what constitutes corrupt practices and are expected to comply with the legal constrains imposed to them. The key element that should support this is fear: fear of sanctions, fear of being subject to prosecuted. There is also a positive approach, where the main goal is to change the organizational and individual practices by inspiring people to choose to do the right thing. Civil servants should demonstrate ethical, professional, legal responsibility because the institution has a code of conduct and they took part in an annual training on ethics. Our approach is different from these two: we focus on building the ethical infrastructure and climate that make organizations and individuals resilient to corrupt practices. Anti-corruption prevention starts with instilling the highest ethical standards in the DNA of public institutions, in the functions, processes and practices that civil servants are involved in.

Ethical Challenges in Public Affairs
Lobby has a notoriously bad reputation and many consider it unethical. In the last decades, in order to avoid this negative connotation, the business sector has shifted from ‘Lobby’ to ‘Public Affairs’ or ‘Governmental Affairs’ and the non-profit sector from ‘Lobby’ to ‘Advocacy’. This workshop will go beyond the labels and test from an ethical point of view various practices associated with the activity of influencing the public agenda. The aim of the training is to help participants discern the ethical aspects of their professional activity and develop a strong moral standpoint.

Whistleblowing in the Private Sector
The Directive (EU) 2019/1937 has introduced a mandatory requirement for all companies with more than 50 employees to implement a whistleblowing channel. This training helps you to understand what whistleblowing is all about, how to set up an internal whistleblowing system that includes much more than a reporting channel and a specific procedure, and how to build a culture that supports whistleblowers and prevents retaliation. During the program, the participants will have the opportunity to hear the stories of several whistleblowers and share ideas on effective protection and support of whistleblowers, as well as critically discuss the forthcoming ISO 37002 and legislatives changes (i.e., the laws transposing the EU directive). This is a hands-on program that requires full trainee presence.

The Social Responsibility of Pharma Companies in Times of Crisis. Masterclass
The concept and practices of Corporate Social Responsibility have evolved in the last two decades at an increasing pace. Shaped by the public pressure and the exigencies of the industry, the CSR/ Sustainability programs became more and more focused on social engagement and consistency in corporate response. This four half-days training takes this and projects it onto various scenarios dominated by crises: from drug scarcity and medical or environmental crises to distribution failures and political conflicts. The main question is how can a Pharmaceutical company address its social responsibility in such a scenario and have its response validated by its stakeholders. All training activities will be online and include short presentations, case study analysis, group tasks using breakout rooms, jamboards, as well as project-based tasks. The trainees will receive the four case studies one week prior to the training and have the obligation to read it thoroughly before joining the first session. All training activities will be based on these four case studies.
