Alert level: RED

Alert message: Do not travel to the indicated countries/regions! If you are already in the area, take all the precautions and leave when safe. If you are subject to an evacuation order, follow the instructions.

As a result of the February 28  Israeli and U.S. attack against Iran, the airspaces over the Arabian Peninsula was closed down and civilian flights were diverted or cancelled. Several NOTAMs – special notifications for pilots – were issued regarding the closed airports across the peninsula: Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and United Arab Emirates, and Yemen airports were not operational (as of March 1st).

The current situation is evolving and diplomatic missions across the region are directing their citizens to leave the area or, if transportation is unavailable, take shelter until conditions improve.

Sunday, March 8, the Turkish ⁠Transport ​Minister Abdulkadir ⁠Uraloglu announced that the air restrictions for commercial flights to Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, parts of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates to remain in effect until the end of March 13. These restrictions affect Turkish Airlines, Ajet, Pegasus and SunExpress. Oman airport is operational but expect flight delays and overcrowded lounge.
